Movies and shows, sorted for you
LocalFlix reads your filenames, recognises seasons and episodes (and date-stamped episodes too), cleans up the release junk and groups everything into titles.
LocalFlix turns the video files already on your Android phone into a proper library of movies and shows, with posters, seasons, progress and resume. Nothing to stream, nothing to sign up for. It just plays what you have.
Free to download. No account. Works offline. Android.

Add a free TMDB key and LocalFlix fetches posters, backdrops, descriptions and cast. Artwork is saved on your phone, so it still shows offline. Prefer your own? Edit any title by hand.
Every video remembers where you stopped. Pick up mid-episode from the Continue Watching row, and progress bars show how far through each title you are.
Mark one episode or a whole selection as watched. Select several episodes to move or remove them together, with Undo if you change your mind.
Search by title, cast member, director, studio or year. Filter by Movies or Shows, Unwatched, In progress, Completed or Has unavailable files, and sort by newest, oldest or A to Z.
Save your library and watch history to a backup file you control, and restore it later. No cloud account involved.
assets/img/folders.pngAdd a folder once and LocalFlix looks after it: new episodes, moved files, missing ones and folders that go away and come back.
Pick a folder and every video inside it, at any depth, joins your library. Nothing is copied or moved: LocalFlix plays your files where they are.
Downloaded the next few episodes? Rescan library folders and they slot into the right show and season.
If a video goes missing, it is marked Unavailable and keeps its watch history. If it comes back, it plays again. If the whole folder can't be opened, LocalFlix says so and offers Reconnect folder.
For anything LocalFlix can't find on its own, link the right video file to the episode. Folder scans leave manual links alone.
A full-screen player with gestures you already know, and a way out when a file won't play.

Movies and shows are recognised, seasons and episodes put in order, names tidied.
Paste a free TMDB API key in Settings to fetch posters, descriptions and cast.
Watch, stop, come back. LocalFlix remembers where you were.

Your library and player work without internet. The only optional online step is fetching artwork from TMDB.
No analytics, no ads and no profile of what you watch.
LocalFlix only reads the folders you choose. Removing something from your library never deletes the video from your phone.
Yes. The free version includes every feature for a library of up to 10 videos. Premium is a one-time purchase that removes the limit. There is no subscription.
No. LocalFlix has no catalogue of its own. It organises and plays video files that are already on your phone.
LocalFlix adds MP4, MKV, AVI, MOV, M4V, WebM and TS files. Whether a particular file plays depends on what your phone can decode. If it can't, use "Open in another player" to watch it in VLC, MX Player or a similar app.
Only if you want posters and details fetched automatically. TMDB API keys are free. Without one, LocalFlix still sorts and plays everything, and you can add artwork by hand.
The affected videos show as Unavailable, with their watch history kept. If the folder itself can't be opened, LocalFlix shows a banner with Reconnect folder: pick the folder's new location and everything is restored.
Never. Removing a show, an episode or a movie only removes it from LocalFlix. The video file stays on your phone.
Not yet. LocalFlix is on Android first. An iPhone version is planned.
No. It is a single purchase through Google Play. If you reinstall, use Restore purchase in Settings.
Free on Android. No account, no subscription.
